We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage and optimise database systems, ensuring their performance, availability, and security across development and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade database systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or cloud-native databases.
• Apply patches, service packs, and version upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Perform regular database backups, restoration, and disaster recovery planning.
• Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
• Plan capacity and ensure scalability of database systems.
• Implement and maintain replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions.
• Ensure database systems meet uptime and reliability requirements.
• Support developers with database design, query optimisation, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and policies.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards.
• Monitor and manage database access and security controls.
• Provide on-call support for critical production systems if required.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL administration.
• Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimisation.
• Exposure to VMware, Nutanix, or cloud platforms.
• Understanding of virtualisation and cloud infrastructure environments.
• No visa sponsorship available.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.
