Job Description: Business Development Manager – (Ecommerce)

We achieve this through a combination of our technology stacks, comprehensive marketing solutions, Customer Service, Data and Intelligence, and, as well as our in-house logistics services.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to lead our efforts in identifying, approaching, and securing key brand partnerships for our ecommerce business. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a healthy pipeline of potential and existing brands, leading negotiations, and formulating growth strategies. This role will require a strong understanding of the ecommerce landscape, cost simulation, contract management, and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Outreach & Pitching:

  • Proactively identify and approach high-potential brands aligned with our business strategy.
  • Develop and deliver tailored pitches that articulate our value proposition, using data and insights to showcase the benefits of partnering with our platform.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at target brands to drive successful partnerships.

Lead Generation & Pipeline Maintenance:

  • Generate and maintain a robust pipeline of potential brand partners, ensuring a consistent flow of opportunities that align with category growth priorities.
  • Track and manage ongoing relationships with both new and existing partners to ensure long-term success.
  • Regularly update the business on pipeline status, conversion rates, and any challenges in securing key partnerships.

Cost Simulation & Quotation:

  • Collaborate with internal teams (finance, operations) to conduct cost simulations and develop competitive pricing strategies.
  • Create detailed and accurate quotations tailored to each brand’s needs, ensuring profitability and strategic alignment.
  • Adjust and negotiate quotations based on brand-specific requirements while balancing business objectives.

Strategic Partnership Development & Growth:

  • Formulate strategies to expand into new categories and deepen existing brand partnerships.
  • Identify and evaluate key strategic partners that align with the company's growth objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the business through partnerships, deciding who to target and how to structure agreements for mutual success.

Contract & Addendum Management:

  • Lead contract negotiations, creating and modifying agreements and addenda based on individual brand needs and legal requirements.
  • Work closely with the legal team to ensure contracts are aligned with business policies and objectives.
  • Adjust contracts and addendums to reflect evolving partnership dynamics and specific brand requirements.

Industry Networking & Relationship Building:

  • Build a strong network within the ecommerce and retail industry, keeping abreast of trends and emerging opportunities.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to identify potential partners and grow the company’s presence.
  • Leverage your network to connect with decision-makers and accelerate partnership negotiations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with key account management, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment on business development priorities and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding and integration of new brands, driving their success on the platform.
  • Provide insights and feedback to internal teams based on market trends and partner feedback to improve offerings and strategies.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in ecommerce business development or related roles.
  • Proven track record in pitching and securing brand partnerships within the ecommerce space.
  • Experience in cost simulations, pricing strategies, and quotation preparation.
  • Strong background in contract creation and negotiation, with the ability to tailor agreements based on partner requirements.
  • Deep understanding of the ecommerce industry, trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent networking skills with a strong industry network and the ability to connect with key decision-makers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
