ABOUT FLIP
The Future Leaders Internship Program (FLIP) is a high-growth career development platform bridging the gap between education and employment for youth. By orchestrating a powerful ecosystem of global education partners, government agencies, and corporate companies, FLIP delivers high-impact virtual simulations, career portfolios, and physical corporate placements. We empower the next generation of talent to unlock international career opportunities and build competitive global edges.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an ambitious, highly connected Business Development Manager (BDM) for a 1-year contract to spearhead our ecosystem growth in Malaysia. This is not a standard transactional sales role. Your primary mission is to pull off a top-down, hyper-scale market acquisition strategy.
You will focus entirely on utilizing relationships to secure macro-partnerships with government bodies, major university clusters, and corporate conglomerates to onboard student volumes at scale. This role is highly outcome-driven and is designed for a strategic "hustler" who can operate with absolute autonomy, leverage pre-existing networks, and grow FLIP into a dominant regional brand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Government Agency & Macro-Ecosystem Alliances
- Government Engagement: Engage and secure endorsements/partnerships with key national talent development agencies (e.g., MDEC, TalentCorp, Ministry of Higher Education) to position FLIP as a core national digital upskilling framework.
- Public Sector Validation: Leverage public sector validations to open doors rapidly into large-scale educational systems and private institutional clusters across Malaysia.
- Strategic Alignment: Align FLIP’s offerings with national youth employability and digital talent initiatives to unlock free public marketing and institutional distribution channels.
2. Institutional & High-Volume University Partnerships
- B2B Academic Outreach: Identify, map, and secure blanket B2B partnerships with private school groups, international school clusters, and major private university networks
- Executive Pitching: Pitch directly to Vice-Chancellors, Deans, and Career Centre Directors to integrate FLIP’s programmes into mandatory student curricula, career readiness blocks, or mass student email distribution tracks.
- Mass Presentations: Deliver high-impact, high-volume presentations and onboarding frameworks to student cohorts, youth associations, and student council networks.
3. Corporate Network Expansion & Monetization Groundwork
- Corporate Ecosystem: Rapidly build and nurture a warm network of corporate partners, including Multi-National Corporations (MNCs), local public-listed conglomerates, tech unicorns, and SMEs.
- Commitment Securitization: Pitch and secure corporate commitments to support and host FLIP students for physical internships, industry mentorships, and exclusive micro-placement programs.
- SLA Frameworks: Structure and manage corporate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to build a robust B2B employer talent acquisition pipeline.
4. Account Management & Pipeline Strategy
- Macro Funnel Ownership: Own the macro student enrolment pipeline, ensuring institutional partners actively deploy internal communications to funnel their entire student bases into FLIP's ecosystem.
- Strategic Optimization: Formulate data-driven market entry and account growth strategies to maximize market penetration across the Klang Valley and wider Malaysia with minimal operational expenditure.
REQUIREMENTS
- Network (Mandatory): Must possess an active, warm, and referenceable rolodex of contacts within key Malaysian talent agencies and career service departments at top-tier private universities.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience in Business Development, Corporate Partnerships, or Institutional Sales, ideally within the EdTech, Private Higher Education Enrolment, Corporate B2B Training, or HR Talent Acquisition sectors in Malaysia.
- Strategizing Capability: Proven ability to engineer long-term, multi-stakeholder partnership frameworks. Experience in looking past individual consumer sales to secure structural, top-down B2B pipeline wins.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills in English. Ability to speak the language of government policymakers, C-level academic executives, and corporate HR directors alike. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin is a strong asset.
- Mindset: A true startup hustler who thrives on speed and metrics. Must be comfortable working in a lean environment where relationship leverage replaces heavy marketing budgets.
- Mobility: Must possess own transport and be fully willing to travel across the Klang Valley for high-level stakeholder pitches.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Remuneration: Competitive fixed monthly contract salary commensurate with experience and market standards for a senior ecosystem partnership role.
- Growth Path: Opportunity to transition directly into a permanent regional leadership/Director-level role as FLIP expands operations into Singapore and Indonesia.
- Environment: Highly flexible, autonomous, and hybrid working model.
- Exposure: Direct collaboration with the Founder, global tech leaders, enterprise HR directors, and key national policymakers.

Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter mapping out your existing network strengths within the Malaysian education and government sectors to ************* with the subject line "Application: Business Development Manager (Ecosystem Scale) - (Your Name)".
