About the Roles
Join our team as a Precast Structural Design Engineer based in Tuas, supporting the design and delivery of high-quality precast concrete solutions. This is a permanent role with a structured Monday to Friday schedule (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM), offering a competitive basic salary package with variable bonus (VB). You will play a key role in developing structural designs, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring precast components are suitable for production and installation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare shop drawings, erection drawings, and reinforcement detailing for precast concrete elements including beams, columns, wall panels, slabs, and staircases.
- Develop and refine designs according to project specifications, manufacturing requirements, and site conditions.
- Ensure all drawings comply with applicable design codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and main contractors to address technical and design-related matters.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are practical for fabrication and installation.
- Participate in design coordination meetings and provide responses to technical enquiries.
- Carry out structural calculations to verify load capacity, reinforcement requirements, and precast component stability.
- Evaluate alternative design approaches to enhance cost effectiveness and improve work processes.
- Utilise structural analysis software to validate and review design solutions.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, industry requirements, and company quality procedures.
- Review and endorse completed drawings before releasing them for manufacturing.
- Conduct site inspections when required to ensure installation works follow approved designs.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Have at least 2 years of experience in precast design or structural engineering.
- Demonstrate proficiency in ETABS, Prokon, and other structural analysis software.
- Possess good knowledge of relevant structural design codes.
- Strong analytical abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills when collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
