Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle the Company's Industrial Relations (IR) function and ensure compliance with Malaysian employment laws, regulations and Company policies.
  • Manage and oversee all employee disciplinary matters, including investigations, counselling, issuance of warning letters, show cause letters, domestic inquiries, suspensions and terminations.
  • Provide timely and practical IR advice to Management and Department Heads on employee relations, disciplinary actions, grievances and employment-related matters.
  • Handle employee grievances and workplace conflicts, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant resolutions.
  • Represent the Company in matters involving relevant authorities, including the Industrial Relations Department, Labour Department and Industrial Court, where required.
  • Review, develop and implement HR policies, disciplinary procedures and SOPs to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of all IR cases, disciplinary records and confidential employee files.
  • Monitor changes in employment legislation and recommend necessary updates to Company policies and practices.
  • Partner with Operations Managers and Restaurant Managers to promote positive employee relations and provide guidance on people management issues across outlets.
  • Conduct training and coaching for managers and supervisors on disciplinary procedures, performance management and employment law compliance.
  • Prepare IR reports, analyse employee relations trends and recommend preventive measures to minimise workplace issues.
  • Lead and supervise the Industrial Relations Executive, providing coaching, guidance and ensuring effective execution of day-to-day IR activities.
  • Support the Head of HR in strategic HR initiatives, compliance audits and other HR projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience in Industrial Relations, preferably within the F&B, retail or other multi-site operations environment.
  • Proven experience in independently handling disciplinary matters, domestic inquiries, employee grievances and termination cases from end to end.
  • Strong working knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and industrial relations practices.
  • Hands-on experience in representing the Company and managing cases involving the Labour Department (JTK), Industrial Relations Department (JPP), and Industrial Court.
  • Experience liaising with government authorities and external legal counsel on employment-related matters.
  • Strong investigation, conflict resolution, negotiation and case management skills.Excellent communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach and supervise junior IR team members.
  • Able to work independently, exercise sound judgment and manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
