Role Description This on-site Research Assistant role is based at MJIIT in Kuala Lumpur. The Research Assistant will support ongoing research projects by collecting and organizing data, conducting literature reviews, and assisting with experiments or simulations under the guidance of faculty members. Daily tasks may include preparing research materials, documenting procedures and results, maintaining research records, and helping with basic data analysis and reporting. The role may also involve coordinating with team members, contributing to presentations or publications, and ensuring that all research activities follow institutional guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Ability to conduct systematic literature reviews and summarize academic sources clearly.
  • Basic skills in data collection, organization, and entry, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with scientific or engineering research methods, including experiments or simulations.
  • Competence in using productivity and research tools (e.g., spreadsheets, reference managers, basic statistical or analysis software).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with the research team.
  • Effective time management, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in engineering, science, technology, or a related field.
  • Interest in Malaysian and Japanese approaches to technology and openness to cross-cultural collaboration.
