Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Tax Associate role based in Penang, Malaysia. The Tax Associate will prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and timely filing in line with applicable regulations. Responsibilities include assisting with tax planning, maintaining organized tax documentation, and supporting tax compliance processes throughout the year. The role also involves researching tax issues, responding to client inquiries, coordinating with accounting staff on financial records, and staying current with changes in tax law and local regulations.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation to handle filings and related documentation accurately.
• Candidates should possess skills in Tax and Tax Law to interpret regulations and support tax planning and advisory work.
• Candidates should possess skills in Finance to understand financial statements and their impact on tax positions.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain tax matters clearly to clients.
• Ability to work on-site in Penang, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate in a team-based environment.
• Relevant academic background in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; professional certifications or progress toward them are an advantage.
• Prior experience in tax or accounting is beneficial, especially within a public practice or boutique firm setting.
