Responsibilities

Job Summary

Senior Dance Instructors prepare and teach classical ballet classes for students from toddlers to adults, lead junior instructors, develop lesson plans, and prepare students for professional dance careers and yearly exams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach stimulating classical ballet classes to students aged toddler to adult, fostering their development toward professional dance careers
  • Lead, mentor, and guide junior dance instructors to enhance their teaching and management skills
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver detailed lesson plans and syllabi aligned with curriculum standards
  • Conduct teachers’ meetings to communicate syllabus updates and instructional changes
  • Demonstrate and explain proper ballet techniques to ensure student mastery
  • Engage students effectively by delivering clear, concise, and captivating instruction
  • Assess individual student needs and support their dance potential development
  • Prepare students for annual dance examinations to meet professional benchmarks
  • Participate in professional development programs to maintain current teaching methods and curriculum knowledge
  • Work independently with strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster a positive learning environment
  • Maintain a professional image in dress and demeanor at all times
  • Organize and conduct annual open house events to showcase the school’s programs
  • Participate in school events such as dance workshops and master classes to enrich student experience
  • Create choreography for the annual student production, including music selection and costume coordination
  • Reflect on teaching practices, set improvement goals, receive feedback, and implement new strategies to enhance student achievement

Required competencies and certifications

  • Minimum RAD Advanced 2 Certificate of Achievement or Dance Diploma with teaching or professional performing experience
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in the RAD syllabus
  • Possess at least a Dance Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in any field

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Possession of CBTS (RAD) certification
  • Dance Degree qualifications and professional performing experience
