What The Role Is
The Performance & Evaluation (P&E) directorate in MOF is looking for dynamic and motivated team members to support MOF in enabling a high-performance government, through better value and accountability for public spending and outcomes.
As Head (Governance Unit) in the Performance & Evaluation directorate, you will have the opportunity to lead, develop and motivate a team of officers, and ensure timely and quality deliverables are achieved:
What You Will Be Working On
Your key responsibilities will include:
i. Policy and planning
- Formulate and implement policies and processes to strengthen public financial governance and address risks
ii. Assessments/Reviews - Work with stakeholders to assess audit observations, propose responses and monitor follow-ups.
- Review agencies’ proposals relating to formation / restructuring of statutory boards and provide inputs/recommendations
iii. Transformation and communication - Strategise and spearhead Whole Of Government (WOG) response(s) relating to governance.
- Identify and drive systemic changes in collaboration with key stakeholders to strengthen governance approaches, frameworks, and capabilities, as well as foster a strong governance mindset across the Public Service
What We Are Looking For
Functional/Technical Competencies
- Tertiary education in Accountancy, Business, Finance, or related disciplines
- Minimum 5 years’ working experience with proficiency in financial, accounting and governance standards, and/or programme/project planning and evaluation and/or audit experience is preferred
Generic Competencies
- Strong analytical thinking, ability to anticipate challenges, and good instincts including for actionable solutions
- Ability to think out of the box and develop innovative solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills to engage internal and external stakeholders at various levels
- Self-motivated individuals with the ability to handle an array of responsibilities and follow-ups in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- A good team player and leader who can support, guide and develop a diverse team
