About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Clerk to join our finance team at Pasaraya Jiason (Nusa Damai) Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Pasir Gudang, Johor. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of our organisation, ensuring accurate financial records and helping to maintain the integrity of our bookkeeping processes. This position is essential to the smooth operation of our financial functions and directly contributes to the overall success of the business.

What you'll be doing

1. Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts and payment vouchers

2. Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation

3. Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports

4. Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities

5. Data entry and verification to ensure accuracy of financial information

6. Filing and archiving financial documents in accordance with company procedures

7. Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes

8. Liaising with suppliers, customers and other departments regarding accounting matters

9. Assisting senior accounting staff with special projects and ad hoc tasks as required

What we're looking for

1. Diploma or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field

2. Proven experience as an Accounts Clerk or in a similar bookkeeping role within a small to medium-sized business

3. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

4. Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

5. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines

6. Excellent organisational and filing skills

7. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members

8. Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
