Job Description

Responsibilities

Information Technology Services Centre
Assistant Computer Officer(s) 
ITSC is seeking forward-thinking professional(s) to not only maintain but actively evolve our High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure. The appointee(s) will directly support pioneering research projects across the University. We are inviting individuals who are passionate about using AI, modern technologies, and up-to-date tools to automate repetitive tasks, streamline troubleshooting processes, and champion technological innovation to join the team.
 

The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) setting up and managing HPC platforms; (b) preparing management reports for the usage of the platforms; (c) providing support to the researchers using HPC platforms; and (d) preparing proposals and evaluating HPC products. 
 

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Sciences, or a related discipline; (ii) knowledge of Linux-based and Windows systems, Python, open source software and networking; (iii) strong analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to integrate AI-driven tools and modern technologies into problem-solving workflows; and (iv) the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a good team member. Having work experience in systems administration, and familiarity with software products related to HPC will be advantageous. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply. 
 

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
