Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Data Centre Projects)

Location: Selangor, Malaysia

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering large-scale Data Centre projects across Selangor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of the project from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and commercial success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BQ).
  • Administer subcontractor procurement, tender evaluations, and contract awards.
  • Prepare and evaluate subcontractor progress claims and payment certificates.
  • Monitor project costs, cash flow, and budget performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare variation orders, extension of time (EOT) claims, and final accounts.
  • Conduct cost analysis and provide regular commercial reports to project management.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams on commercial matters.
  • Identify commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support value engineering initiatives to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
  • Maintain accurate commercial documentation and project records.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–8 years of Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor.
  • Experience delivering Data Centre, industrial, semiconductor, cleanroom, warehouse, or large-scale commercial projects will be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Experience preparing cost reports, variation claims, and final accounts.
  • Good understanding of Malaysian construction practices and contract forms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a project team.


Preferred Experience

  • Experience with fast-track or mission-critical projects.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC, PAM, or other standard forms of contract.
  • Knowledge of M&E packages and CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) works is an advantage.
