Job Overview
- Department: Safety & Security
- Reports To: Safety & Security Manager / Assistant Safety & Security Manager
- Shift Requirements: Rotating shifts (including weekends, nights, and public holidays)
- Core Objective: To safeguard guests, associates, and resort assets while delivering professional, friendly 5-star service that reflects the warm hospitality of the PARKROYAL brand.
Key Responsibilities
1. Patrols & Surveillance
- Conduct regular foot and mobile patrols around the resort premises, including guest blocks, pools, golf-adjacent areas, and perimeter boundaries to detect and prevent security breaches or hazards.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance networks and alarm systems in the control room.
- Manage vehicle access control at entry/exit checkpoints to ensure smooth traffic flow for arriving guests, tour buses, and delivery trucks.
2. Emergency Response & Life Safety
- Act as a first responder during onsite emergencies, medical incidents, or fire alarms.
- Actively participate in the resort’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Crisis Management Team (CMT) drills.
- Inspect and assist in the upkeep of fire-fighting equipment, fire escape routes, and emergency exit doors.
3. Resort-Specific Safety (Nature & Family)
- Since the resort is situated in a lush, natural environment near Safari attractions, support wildlife monitoring and control protocols (e.g., safely keeping wild monkeys or monitor lizards away from guest spaces).
- Ensure strict safety protocols are maintained around the high-activity guest zones, such as the kids’ pool and play areas.
4. Incident Reporting & Administration
- Document and file clear, objective incident reports for any thefts, damage, property losses, or injuries.
- Oversee key control logs, visitor registries, and contractor badge pass compliance.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Education: Minimum of SPM/STPM. A certificate or diploma in Security Management, Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), or Emergency Management is a strong advantage.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred. Prior experience in a 4-star or 5-star resort/hotel environment is highly beneficial.
- Language Skills: Good communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English to converse easily with international and local guests.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit, capable of walking long distances across resort terrain, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Core Traits: Calm under pressure, approachable, highly observant, and dedicated to guest satisfaction.
