Role Description This is a contract, on-site Cloud Engineer (AWS) role based in Kuala Lumpur. The Cloud Engineer will design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure to support scalable, secure, and reliable applications and services. Daily responsibilities include provisioning and configuring cloud resources, optimizing performance and cost, managing backups, monitoring systems, and handling incident resolution. The role involves collaborating with development, operations, and security teams to ensure robust architectures, implementing automation for deployments and infrastructure management, and maintaining documentation and best practices for cloud environments. The Cloud Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, participate in code and design reviews, and support migration and modernization projects.


Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Cloud Computing skills, with hands-on experience in AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM).
  • Candidates should possess solid Infrastructure skills, including networking, security controls, monitoring, backup, and high-availability configurations.
  • Candidates should possess Software Development skills, such as scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Candidates should possess Linux skills, including system administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and automation using shell scripts or tools.
  • Candidates should possess Databases skills, with experience in relational and/or NoSQL databases, performance optimization, and data backup and recovery.
  • Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer), experience with IaC tools (such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation), and familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively in cross-functional, on-site teams are essential.
