Job Summary

This role is to lead commercial and cost management activities across major construction projects. This client-facing role involves overseeing project budgets, cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and commercial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of cost management services across the full project lifecycle, from cost planning and procurement to contract administration and final accounts.
• Act as the client's trusted commercial advisor, providing cost control, forecasting, risk management, and strategic commercial guidance.
• Manage tendering activities, evaluate bids, negotiate variations, and monitor project budgets to ensure cost objectives are achieved.
• Lead and mentor a team of Cost Managers and Quantity Surveyors, ensuring high-quality commercial deliverables.
• Work closely with clients, project managers, consultants, and contractors to support successful project delivery.
• Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and commercial updates for client stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 15 years of experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management within the construction industry.
• Strong experience across both pre-contract and post-contract cost management.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring commercial or cost management teams.
• Strong client-facing, stakeholder management, negotiation, and commercial advisory skills.
• Experience with consultancy firms or client-side secondment is highly advantageous.
• Experience in large-scale projects such as data centres, industrial, infrastructure, or commercial developments is preferred.
