Job Description

Responsibilities

Osaka Gas Energy Supply and Trading (“OGEST”), 100% subsidiary of Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. (“OGHQ”), is looking for a responsible LNG Optimisation Specialist, for OGEST cargoes as well as OGHQ cargoes, to join the company.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

-       Liaise and coordinate with those who optimize LNG portfolio and LNG assets between OGEST/OGUK and OGHQ, including operation of LNG Cargo, timely and accurate optimization coordination, and commercial coordination with counterpart operators

-       Work and cooperate closely with internal operators, traders, analysts in OGEST, OGUK, OGHQ and other overseas offices, including coaching/mentoring cargo operators and analysts

-       Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as traders, middle / back-office, shipping, technical ************* OGEST, OGUK, OGHQ and other overseas offices

-       Ensure the effective coordination of all parties in relation to LNG portfolio optimization activities, to ensure compliance with regulation and effective implementation

-       Ensure clauses in LNG SPAs, MSPAs or Confirmation Memorandums (CMs) accurately captured in relevant documents

-       Check optimization calculations relating to the trade and make / assist in claims where necessary

-       Support commercial and analytical activities such as calculating the economics, reviewing MSPAs, CMs, Annual Delivery Program scheduling, internal discussions for trading strategy, and ad-hoc duties in relations to trading and optimization by OGEST/OGUK/OGHQ

-       Other tasks assigned by line manager

CARGO OPERATIONS SUPPORT

- Supporting the LNG Cargo operations team cargo operational requirements as set out in deal contract, including preparation of Documentary Instruction, timely and accurate nominations, appointment of independent surveyors

- Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as trader, middle / back-office, shipping, technical etc. in OGEST, OGHQ and other overseas offices

- General operation and management of LNG vessels owned/chartered by OG group. Specifically, generation and issue of Voyage Orders (including load and discharge instructions), appointment of port agents, finding opportunities for optimum bunker procurement, etc.

- Entry of trade details in ETRM system

- Check calculations relating to the trade and make / assist in claims where necessary

- Create a checklist of cargo operations and record trading activities

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

- Minimum bachelor’s degree

- Minimum 1 year of experienced in LNG cargo operations and optimizations with excellent knowledge of the LNG business value chain

- Proficient and fluent in both English and business Japanese in order to report to OGHQ and coordinate with domestic customers/business partners in Japan and overseas (written and verbal communication in English & Japanese with internal and external stakeholders is required)

- Understanding of optimization strategies and commercial operations

- Excellent understanding of the global LNG market/entire LNG value chain and its commercial and operational characteristics (e.g. upstream, liquefaction, transportation, regasification, LNG terminal, etc.)

- Ability to work under pressure and to identify/resolve issues related to LNG transactions
