About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established regional organization with operations across multiple international markets. As the business continues to grow and evolve, they are seeking an experienced Group Reporting Director to lead the Group Financial Reporting function and strengthen financial governance across the organization.

Reporting to senior finance leadership, this position will oversee consolidated financial reporting, technical accounting, statutory reporting, and audit governance while partnering with finance teams across the region. This is a high-impact leadership role offering significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to drive reporting excellence within a complex multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Group Financial Reporting

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Manage the Group consolidation process across multiple entities and jurisdictions, including intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, non-controlling interests, and consolidated cash flow reporting.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Drive continuous improvements to the financial close and consolidation processes to enhance reporting efficiency.

Technical Accounting

  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex accounting matters under U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Prepare technical accounting assessments and supporting documentation for significant accounting transactions.
  • Maintain and update Group accounting policies to ensure consistent application across all entities.
  • Evaluate the impact of new accounting standards and recommend appropriate implementation plans.

Audit, Controls & Compliance

  • Lead the Group's financial reporting activities during external audits and statutory reporting cycles.
  • Strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and support governance initiatives.
  • Partner with regional finance teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Lead reporting process improvements and address audit recommendations where required.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with Finance, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and other corporate functions to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
  • Support strategic business initiatives by providing accounting and financial reporting expertise.
  • Present financial reporting matters and recommendations to senior management where appropriate.

Requirements

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Approximately 12-15 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, consolidation, technical accounting, and audit.
  • Strong experience managing financial reporting across multiple legal entities and international operations.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Experience working with external auditors and managing statutory reporting requirements.
  • Prior Big 4 audit experience is advantageous but not essential.

Preferred Background

  • Experience within capital-intensive industries or businesses with significant investment projects and complex legal entity structures.
  • Exposure to corporate finance functions such as Treasury, Tax, and FP&A would be beneficial.
  • Experience with enterprise ERP systems and financial consolidation platforms.
