Clarks Hiring! Full Time Global Overhead Accountant in Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur - Ricebowl

Job Overview:

Clarks is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Global Overhead Accountant to support accurate financial reporting and effective cost management across all global functions mainly in Singapore. This role is responsible for managing, analysing, and reporting global overheads, ensuring strong financial control, consistent accounting practices, and high-quality insights for decision-making. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and able to work collaboratively across markets and departments in a fast-paced international environment.

Responsibilities:

• Handle full sets of accounts (AP, AR and G/L) including preparation of journal entries, Balance Sheets, Income Statements, variance analysis and other reporting schedules for the Singapore entity.
• Prepare monthly journals and take ownership of the Balance sheet reconciliation.
• Perform sales reconciliations for Store, E-comm and concession.
• Compile and check staff reimbursement.
• Maintain accurate financial records and statements.
• To prepare inter-company billings and ensure that all business transactions are properly recorded to the respective entities. Work closely with Business/Operations, HQ Finance and Commercial Finance team in setting up process flows, financial information, and reports.
• Prepare and file quarterly GST submissions.
• Coordinate with tax agent for monthly reporting and tax submissions.
• Support for Group Statutory Audit, Local Statutory Audit, and the GTO Audit function.
• Ensure that the system of internal controls and audits is established and adhered to strictly.
• Continuously improve processes, procedures, and internal controls.

Education & Professional Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
• Professional qualification preferred: ACCA or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (SFRS / IFRS), corporate tax, and GST regulations.

Experience:

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in the Retail or FMCG industry.
• Experience managing audits and regulatory compliance.
• Prior experience with SAP or similar ERP
• Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Fast learner with strong initiative; able to work independently and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Meticulous with high attention to detail and numeracy
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
