Junior Interior Designer (室内设计师)

About the role

Dans Interior sdn bhd is seeking a talented Junior Interior Designer to join our growing team at our Cheras Traders Square office in Selangor. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to launch your interior design career with a dynamic and creative company. You will work on diverse residential and commercial projects, developing your design skills whilst contributing to innovative solutions that enhance spaces and improve clients' experiences. This role is pivotal in supporting our senior designers and helping to deliver exceptional design concepts that meet our clients' vision and expectations.

What you'll be doing

1. Represent the company at home fairs, exhibitions, or professional activities; assist customers in purchasing products, respond to their inquiries, and provide product recommendations — a high commission will be provided.

2. Creating design proposals, floor plans, elevations and 3D visualizations using industry-standard software

3. Researching design trends, materials, finishes and furniture options to support project development

4. Liaising with clients to understand their brief, preferences and budget constraints

5. Preparing design presentations and mood boards to communicate concepts to clients and stakeholders

6. Coordinating with contractors, suppliers and other professionals to ensure accurate implementation of designs

7. Managing project documentation, specifications and sourcing materials within budget parameters

8. Contributing ideas to team brainstorming sessions and design reviews

9. Supporting the team with administrative tasks related to project management and client communication

What we're looking for

1. A diploma or degree in Interior Design or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification

2. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or similar programmed

3. Strong understanding of design principles, color theory, spatial planning and material knowledge

4. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate design ideas clearly

5. Attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities

6. Ability to work collaboratively within a team whilst also taking initiative on assigned tasks

7. A keen eye for aesthetic design combined with practical problem-solving skills

8. Willingness to learn and develop expertise in interior design practices and industry standards

9. Preferably 1-2 years of relevant experience in an interior design studio or related environment

10. Knowledge of Malaysian building codes and design regulations is advantageous
