R&D RF Hardware Design Lead
About the Role
On behalf of our client, a leading semiconductor test solutions company, we are looking for an experienced R&D RF Hardware Design Lead to drive the design and development of next-generation RF hardware for Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RF Hardware Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, leading technical initiatives, and developing innovative RF solutions from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of RF hardware and instrumentation for semiconductor ATE platforms.
- Design, simulate, and optimize RF circuits to achieve high-performance and reliable hardware solutions.
- Review PCB layouts with emphasis on RF routing, grounding, shielding, impedance matching, and signal integrity.
- Lead hardware debugging, validation, characterization, and root cause analysis activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and NPI.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and lead engineering design reviews.
- Support prototype development, production readiness, and continuous product improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, RF Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in RF hardware design and development.
- Strong experience in RF circuit design, schematic design, PCB layout/design or PCB layout review.
- Solid understanding of RF fundamentals, including impedance matching, gain, noise, linearity, isolation, shielding, and signal integrity.
- Hands-on experience with RF simulation tools such as ADS, HFSS, CST, AWR, or equivalent.
- Experience using RF laboratory equipment such as VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Signal Analyzer, and Oscilloscope.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills.
- Leadership or mentoring experience is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor, RF instrumentation, or Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
- Experience with RF IC test hardware, PCB stack-up, routing, grounding, and shielding.
- Knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW is an advantage.
Pay: Up to RM15,000.00 per month
