Role Description The Senior Lecturer role at Universiti Teknologi MARA is a full-time, on-site position based in Shah Alam. The Senior Lecturer will design, deliver, and continuously improve undergraduate and postgraduate courses, ensuring alignment with faculty and university academic standards. Daily responsibilities include preparing lectures and learning materials, conducting tutorials and practical sessions, mentoring and advising students, supervising research projects and theses, and providing constructive assessment and feedback. The Senior Lecturer will also contribute to scholarly research, publish in reputable journals, participate in conferences, and support curriculum development and academic quality assurance initiatives. In addition, the role involves engaging in departmental administration, participating in committees, contributing to community outreach, and collaborating with colleagues on academic and industry partnerships.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in the relevant academic discipline, with a proven ability to teach and supervise at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Demonstrated skills in curriculum design, course planning, and development of learning materials that support diverse learning needs.
• Experience in academic assessment, including preparing examinations, grading assignments, and providing clear, timely feedback to students.
• Evidence of active research engagement, including conducting studies, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting at academic conferences.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor students and collaborate with colleagues and external partners.
• Competence in using educational technologies and learning management systems to enhance teaching and learning activities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field; a PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in higher education teaching at lecturer or senior lecturer level, or equivalent academic or professional experience.
