Position Summary
The Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality learning experiences that inspire students to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment, promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
The role involves teaching Mathematics across the Secondary School, including Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS & A Level, and/or the IB Diploma Programme, depending on experience and school requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Teach Mathematics across Secondary School, including Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS & A Level, and/or the IB Diploma Programme, as assigned.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
- Create an engaging, inclusive, and student-centred classroom environment that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and independent learning.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies.
- Maintain accurate student records and prepare timely reports for parents and school leadership.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support student achievement and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with teaching teams to develop curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to continuous school improvement.
- Participate actively in professional learning, departmental meetings, school events, parent-teacher conferences, and extracurricular activities.
- Promote and model the values of the school and, where applicable, the attributes of the IB Learner Profile.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, child protection, health, safety, and wellbeing in accordance with school policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, PGDE, PGCEi, B.Ed., QTS, State Teaching Licence or equivalent).
- Minimum two years of full-time teaching experience in Mathematics at the Secondary level.
- Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE is essential.
- Experience teaching Cambridge International AS & A Level and/or the IB Diploma Programme (DP) is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in an international school environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver inquiry-based, student-centred learning.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Strong digital literacy and ability to integrate educational technology into teaching and learning.
