Role Description The Senior Data Scientist is a full-time, on-site role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. This role involves designing and implementing advanced analytical models, experimenting with machine learning techniques, and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders. The Senior Data Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define metrics, prepare data pipelines, and validate model performance in production environments. Responsibilities include exploring new data sources, improving existing algorithms, creating dashboards or visualizations, and documenting methodologies to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing. The role also includes mentoring junior team members and contributing to best practices in data science across the organization.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Data Science and Data Analytics skills, including experience with machine learning frameworks and model development.
- Candidates should possess solid Statistics and Data Analysis skills to design experiments, interpret results, and validate models rigorously.
- Candidates should possess practical Data Visualization skills to present complex findings through clear, intuitive dashboards and reports.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, R) and experience with SQL or other query languages.
- Experience working with large datasets, cloud-based data platforms, and modern data engineering tools is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prior experience in a senior or lead data science role and a track record of delivering production-ready analytical solutions are preferred.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
