Responsibilities

Hydraulic Technician

Position Summary: The Hydraulic Technician is responsible for the production, assembly, testing, and maintenance of hose systems, hydraulic components, and industrial equipment within a TESS service workshop. The role supports the company’s delivery of high-quality products and services to key industries such as oil & gas, subsea, maritime, and general industry. The Hydraulic Technician plays a critical role in delivering on-site technical support and maintenance services to TESS’s industrial clients, particularly in sectors like oil & gas, marine, and subsea. This technician ensures equipment—primarily hose systems, hydraulic systems, and related tools—are correctly installed, maintained, and functioning safely and efficiently at customer sites, both onshore and offshore.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hose Assembly & Production

Manufacture, assemble, and test flexible hose assemblies (e.g., hydraulic, high-pressure, industrial) to meet customer specifications and industry standards.

  • Equipment Testing & Inspection

Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, and visual inspection of hydraulic systems and related fittings using specialized equipment.

  • Maintenance & Repairs

Perform maintenance and repair work on tools, machinery, and hydraulic systems within the workshop, ensuring all equipment is safe and ready for use.

  • Inventory Handling

Manage and prepare materials, fittings, and components required for production, while maintaining proper storage and inventory control.

  • On-site Support & Maintenance

Provide field service at customer locations, including installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of hose assemblies, hydraulic systems, flushing, pressure testing and related equipment.

  • System Troubleshooting

Diagnose and resolve mechanical and hydraulic issues on-site, minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring client operations remain uninterrupted.

  • Hose, Tubing, Rigid Piping & Equipment Assembly

Prepare and test hose, tubing, rigid piping assemblies and components (often high-pressure) according to specifications and safety standards.

  • Client Interaction & Documentation

Communicate with customers to understand service needs, offer recommendations, and document all performed tasks through service reports.

  • Compliance & Safety

Follow strict safety procedures, especially for offshore or subsea environments, and ensure compliance with industry and company standards.

  • Quality Control & Documentation

Follow internal procedures for documentation, traceability, and compliance with ISO and safety standards.

  • Collection & Delivery

Prepare collection & delivery items to/fro clients/vendors site

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualification: Technical diploma or vocational training in mechanics, hydraulics, or industrial maintenance.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, troubleshooting, flushing, pressure testing and industrial maintenance is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge & experience in rigid tubing & piping bending, installation & testing will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently on client sites, including offshore environments.
  • Strong focus on HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) practices.
  • Willingness to travel and perform service work in physically demanding settings.
  • Vocational training or technical certificate in mechanics, hydraulics, or industrial technology.
  • Hands-on experience with hoses, hydraulic equipment, or workshop tools is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Team player with good communication skills.

  • TESS Service Centers or Production Workshops.
  • Safety-regulated environments.
  • Occasional coordination with Site-service Technicians for joint service tasks

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
