Forklift Mechanic Supervisor / Workshop Supervisor
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Forklift Mechanic Supervisor to lead our service and repair team. The successful candidate will oversee daily workshop operations, supervise mechanics and technicians, ensure high-quality repair work, and maintain excellent customer service standards. This role requires strong technical forklift knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple repair jobs efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead forklift mechanics and service technicians
- Assign daily repair and maintenance jobs to technicians
- Diagnose and assist with complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Ensure all repair and servicing work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule
- Conduct quality checks on completed repairs and maintenance work
- Coordinate workshop operations and field service activities
- Monitor job progress, parts usage, and technician productivity
- Maintain service records, repair reports, and workshop documentation
- Communicate with customers regarding repair status, quotations, and technical recommendations
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and company procedures
- Train and guide junior mechanics and technicians
- Assist in inventory management and ordering spare parts when required
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in forklift repair or heavy equipment maintenance
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of diesel, LPG, and electric forklifts
- Good troubleshooting skills for hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read service manuals and wiring diagrams
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage workshop schedules and prioritize urgent repairs
- Valid driver’s license
- Responsible, organized, and able to work under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with forklift brands such as Toyota, Komatsu, Mitsubishi, Hyster, Crown, Linde, or Nissan
- Technical certification in mechanical or heavy equipment repair
- Experience managing field service operations
- Welding or fabrication experience is an advantage
