Job Description

Responsibilities

The Singapore Scout Association (SSA) is one of the oldest youth movement in Singapore dating back to 1910. It is a full member of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM), which numbers over 57 million Scouts across 176 National Organisations as of 2024.

The SSA, a registered charity in Singapore, aims to help youths discover, learn and put into practice essential life skills through serving others and learning by doing. It offers a non-formal and values-based educational programme to support the development of young people in becoming responsible and active citizens. As one of nine uniformed groups in Singapore, its programmes are delivered through the Scout Method and are also aligned to the 21st Century Competencies (21CC) and Character & Citizenship Education (CCE2021) frameworks promulgated by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to encourage the holistic physical, mental, spiritual, and social development of youth.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Ensure that all invoices are posted in a timely manner into the accounting system.
  • Manage vendor invoices by matching to Purchase Orders (PO), Delivery Orders (DO).
  • Process claims, reimbursements and suppliers' invoices.
  • Handle bi-monthly payment cycle or as required.
  • Co-ordinate with respective account signatories for signing.
  • Prepare accrual journals for month end reporting.
  • Perform accounts analysis and audit schedules.

Other accounting/admin support:

  • Assist in fund raising activities.
  • Provide accounting assistance to SSA/Unit Leaders.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor and management.

Requirements:

  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years' experience in relevant fields an advantage.
  • Meticulous and diligent.
  • Ability to work well in teams.
  • Experience with accounting software.
  • Preferably with QuickBooks knowledge
