Job Summary

Lead and manage R&D projects to drive product innovation and business growth in the beauty, cosmetics, skincare, or wellness industry. Mentor teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver successful product development and launches.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of R&D projects to complete them on time, within scope, and within budget
• Develop and implement R&D strategies that support product innovation and business growth
• Mentor and manage the R&D team to achieve project objectives and foster continuous professional development
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project success
• Research emerging technologies, industry trends, and new product development opportunities to drive innovation
• Oversee the development, testing, validation, and commercialisation of new products and formulations
• Ensure all R&D activities comply with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and company policies
• Prepare and review technical documentation, regulatory submissions, research reports, and project records accurately
• Collaborate with production, quality assurance, marketing, and business development teams to support successful product launches
• Evaluate and implement new research methodologies, technologies, and processes to improve efficiency and product performance
• Maintain accurate documentation of research activities, experimental results, and intellectual property where applicable

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Cosmetic Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field
• Minimum 6 years of R&D experience, including 4 years in a leadership role, preferably in the beauty, cosmetics, skincare, or wellness industry
• Knowledge of R&D processes, product development, regulatory requirements, and quality standards
• Strong leadership, project management, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel for business meetings and industry events as required

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Familiarity with the China market, including consumer trends and regulatory requirements
