A Warehouse Manager's job scope involves overseeing all daily operations within a warehouse to ensure the efficient, accurate, and safe receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods . It is a leadership role that balances operational oversight, team management, and strategic planning to meet company goals .

The core responsibilities can be broken down into several key areas:

Operations & Inventory Management

• Overseeing Core Processes: Managing the entire order cycle, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and shipping .
• Optimizing Space & Workflow: Planning warehouse layout and storage configurations to maximize space utilization and streamline workflows .
• Maintaining Inventory Accuracy: Implementing and overseeing regular cycle counts and audits to ensure inventory records are accurate and to minimize loss .
• Coordinating Logistics: Scheduling inbound and outbound shipments, managing transportation arrangements, and coordinating with drivers and logistics partners for efficient delivery .
• Developing Systems: Creating and implementing operational policies and procedures for product handling, equipment use, and shipping methods .

Team Leadership & Development

A warehouse manager leads and develops a high-performing team. This involves:

• Staff Management: Hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling warehouse staff like pickers, packers, and forklift operators .
• Performance Management: Setting performance goals, monitoring productivity, providing coaching and feedback, and conducting regular performance reviews .
• Fostering a Positive Culture: Building a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement .

Performance & Cost Management

A focus on data and metrics is crucial for achieving efficiency and meeting financial targets. Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring KPIs: Tracking and analyzing key performance indicators such as inventory turnover, order accuracy, on-time shipment rates, dock-to-stock time, and labor productivity .
• Managing the Budget: Controlling operational costs related to labor, equipment, and inventory, and implementing cost-saving measures where possible .
• Process Improvement: Continuously analyzing workflows and implementing best practices to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline operations .

Safety, Compliance & Maintenance

Maintaining a safe, secure, and well-functioning facility is a non-negotiable part of the role. This covers:

• Enforcing Safety Protocols: Establishing and enforcing safety procedures to comply with legal regulations and create a safe working environment .
• Conducting Safety Inspections: Regularly inspecting the warehouse, equipment, and machinery, and addressing any safety hazards or maintenance issues .
• Equipment Maintenance: Overseeing the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, conveyor systems) .

Documentation & Technology

A warehouse manager must ensure accuracy and leverage modern tools for efficiency. This includes:

• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and daily activities .
• Technology Utilization: Leveraging Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other technology, such as barcode scanning and data analytics tools, to optimize operations and make data-driven decisions

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
