Key Responsibilities
- Review and oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
- Review annual statutory financial statements and coordinate with external auditors throughout the audit process.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), the Companies Act 2016, tax legislation, and other statutory requirements.
- Review financial reports, supporting schedules, reconciliations, and accounting entries prepared by the finance team.
- Monitor the Company's financial performance and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Oversee the Company's cash flow, treasury operations, and funding requirements.
- Review cash flow projections and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and project requirements.
- Manage banking facilities, financing arrangements, and maintain relationships with financial institutions.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasting.
- Analyse budget variances and provide recommendations to Management.
- Support Management with financial analysis, business planning, and strategic decision-making.
- Review corporate tax computations, tax estimates, deferred tax calculations, and transfer pricing documentation.
- Liaise with tax agents, auditors, Company Secretaries, solicitors, bankers, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure timely submission of all statutory and regulatory filings.
- Review project costing, Percentage of Completion (POC) recognition, project profitability, and development expenditure.
- Monitor project financing, progress billings, purchaser collections, and financing drawdowns.
- Assist in financial due diligence for new developments and investments.
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounts executive team.
- Review work allocation and ensure departmental efficiency and compliance with internal controls.
- Develop and improve finance policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure adequate internal controls are implemented and maintained.
- Review and improve accounting processes and financial governance.
- Identify financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Review Group consolidation schedules and inter-company transactions.
- Prepare financial reports and presentation materials for the Board of Directors and Management meetings.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, financing exercises, and other corporate projects as required.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Management from time to time.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA Australia, ICAEW, CIMA, MICPA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience in the property development and construction industry is essential.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS)
- Companies Act 2016
- Income Tax Act 1967
- SST and other relevant statutory requirements
- Project accounting and Percentage of Completion (POC)
- Treasury and cash flow management
- Experience in Group consolidation, budgeting, corporate taxation, and audit management.
- Strong leadership, people management, and coaching skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
