CFI, a finance brokerage company, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join its growing technology team based in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya.

This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about building scalable data infrastructure, developing efficient ETL pipelines, and transforming complex datasets into meaningful business insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, optimise, and maintain reliable data systems that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Python.
• Strong experience writing and optimising SQL queries.
• Good understanding of database design, data modelling, data mining, and data segmentation.
• Experience developing ETL processes and supporting data transformation workflows.
• Familiarity with metadata management, workload optimisation, and scalable data structures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Databricks, Dataflow, or Apache Spark is an added advantage.
• Experience with Prefect, MLflow, or similar workflow orchestration tools is a plus.
• Exposure to Machine Learning or Deep Learning deployment is beneficial.
• Able to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical data requirements to develop effective data solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable databases, data pipelines, and data collection systems.
• Develop and optimise ETL processes using Python.
• Acquire, process, and maintain data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Ensure high standards of data quality, integrity, and governance across all data systems.
• Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data engineering processes and data architecture.
• Build and enhance data science infrastructure, including experiment tracking, feature stores, and A/B testing platforms.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions that support business objectives.
