We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Lead to lead the development of innovative products from concept through production. You will provide technical leadership while working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality mechanical designs that meet performance, reliability, and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical product development from concept, design, prototyping, testing, validation, and production.
• Design precision mechanical systems including enclosures, sheet metal parts, mechanisms, thermal management, automation, optical, or fluidic components.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to engineering team members.
• Perform engineering analysis such as tolerance stack-up, structural calculations, component sizing, and simulations (FEA/CFD where applicable).
• Plan and execute verification, validation, and reliability testing.
• Investigate product or manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Reliability (DFR), and Design for Cost (DFC) principles.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Hardware, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, reports, and engineering change records.
• Drive continuous improvement by adopting new engineering tools, technologies, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical product development within an R&D environment.
• Experience leading complex product development projects.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Precision mechanical design
• GD&T
• Tolerance analysis
• Material selection
• Manufacturing processes
• Experience in one or more of the following is an advantage:
• Precision mechanisms
• Automation systems
• Optical systems
• Fluidics
• Sheet metal/chassis design
• Thermal management
• Knowledge of engineering simulations (FEA/CFD) is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Self-motivated and able to mentor junior engineers.
• Experience using AI tools to improve engineering productivity is an added advantage.

Salary up to RM 15.000

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
