Responsibilities

About the Role

The Settlement Operations Center Manager leads the local settlement operation center function while orchestrating cross-border collaboration with other regional centers. The role accountable for day-to-day operations including process improvement and the design and rollout of settlement standards and compliance frameworks, ensuring accuracy, reliability and regulatory compliance across multiple geographies and time zones.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Credit Card Settlement Operations team to ensure timely and accurate settlement processing, reconciliation and operational support across multiple markets.
  • Manage daily settlement with card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, JCB, Amex where applicable), acquiring banks and payment partners.
  • Perform daily reconciliation between card schemes, processors, merchants, banking partners and internal ledgers; investigate and resolve settlement discrepancies.
  • Monitor settlement exceptions, chargebacks, adjustments, rejects and funding differences; ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Risk, and Compliance stakeholders; escalate issues and communicate status proactively.
  • Coordinate regional coverage, including 24/7 where applicable, incident response and stakeholder communications.
  • Own for the center's performance metrics end-to-end (KPI/OKR) to set the targets, review dashboards and drive continuous improvement.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
  • 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in credit card settlement, card operations, payment operations or banking settlement.
  • Strong understanding of card transaction lifecycle, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, chargeback and dispute management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead both local teams and international teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills; able to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients (written and spoken)


Preferred Attributes

  • Experience coordinating 24/7 operations across regions and time zones.
  • Exposure to cross-border payment platforms, regional settlement systems and system migrations/automation projects.
