Critical Environment Management Lead

About the Role
JLL is seeking a high-impact technical leader to drive best-in-class engineering operations and critical environment resilience across the South Asia Hub (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia & Vietnam). This is a senior role focused on operational excellence, innovation, and uptime of complex, high-availability infrastructure—spanning data centers, control rooms, process plants, or advanced manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
Lead Technical & Operational Excellence
Provide hands-on, strategic leadership for multi-country technical operations in critical environments (e.g., data centers, trading floors, manufacturing plants, labs, utilities). Ensure 24x7 uptime and operational resilience for essential engineering systems, such as BMS, M&E, power distribution, HVAC, and life safety infrastructure. Champion rapid incident response and business continuity protocols for mission-critical sites. Lead and mentor technical engineering teams (onsite and regional) delivering preventive/corrective maintenance, system upgrades, and critical engineering projects.

Drive Regional Standardization & Innovation
Develop and implement standardized engineering playbooks, SOPs, and change management processes for technical operations and asset management. Pilot and scale digital and automation solutions (CMMS, BMS, IoT, predictive maintenance, energy optimization) to enhance operational visibility and system reliability. Support solution design and technical sales engagements as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in critical facilities management.

Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management
Oversee statutory and technical compliance for engineering and critical facility operations, including the integration of EHS as part of broader operational leadership. Lead or coordinate audits to verify that engineering and BCP/life safety controls are deployed and effective. Operate as a technical escalation and root-cause expert for equipment failures, system outages, or critical incidents.

Stakeholder Leadership & Business Partnership
Build relationships with client and senior stakeholders to understand evolving site requirements and translate operational experience into service excellence and business growth. Deliver technical training and upskilling programs to maintain a high-performance engineering operations team. Present thought leadership and represent JLL externally in the realm of operational resilience and engineering innovation.

Requirements
Experience:  8+ years in technical/engineering operations leadership within critical environments such as data centers, advanced manufacturing, high-reliability utilities, R&D, or life science sectors. At least 4 years managing complex, high-availability infrastructure and teams.

Regional Exposure:  Responsible for operations across multiple countries, or for large-scale, high-complexity technical programs.

Education:  Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or closely related technical discipline).

Technical Skills:  Demonstrated expertise in at least three of: BMS, HVAC/ACMV, electrical distribution, industrial automation, asset lifecycle management, CMMS/digital O&M, or utilities/plant operations.
Leadership:  Proven capability building, leading, and mentoring geographically dispersed technical teams. Integrated facilities management (IFM) operations leadership or direct multi-site responsibility preferred.

Critical Environments:  Hands-on responsibility for uptime, risk management, and incident response for mission-critical technical assets. Strong understanding of system interdependencies (power, cooling, network, controls).

Compliance:  Deep familiarity with technical compliance and statutory standards (EHS as a component of broader operations management).

Communication:  Effective at presenting to technical audiences and senior stakeholders.

Certifications (preferred):  Professional Engineering license, advanced FM or DC certifications (e.g., Green Mark, Uptime, Bizsafe, FSM, CFM, PMP).

Success Factors
Track record in high-availability, high-impact engineering operations

Experience standardizing and uplifting technical processes across multi-site environments

A passion for digital/automation solutions and operational excellence

Ability to build trust across technical teams and client organizations

Champion of resilience, innovation, and business continuity in engineering operations
