The Manager, Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations, planning, and reporting activities of the company. This role involves managing budgets, financial forecasts, accounting processes, and financial analysis to ensure the company's financial health and compliance with regulations. The Manager, Finance also supports strategic decision-making by providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
Financial Planning and Budgeting:
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic planning and business decisions.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare management reports and presentations on financial performance for senior leadership.
Accounting Operations:
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting records, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Supervise the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting documents.
Cash Flow and Treasury Management:
- Manage cash flow to ensure the company maintains adequate liquidity to meet its obligations.
- Optimize the use of cash reserves and manage investments, debt, and other financing activities.
- Forecast cash flow needs and provide recommendations for improving cash management.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Liaise with external auditors during audits and ensure audit recommendations are implemented.
Tax Planning and Compliance:
- Manage tax planning activities, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant taxes.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with tax regulations.
- Work with tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and minimize liabilities.
Financial Systems and Processes:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, tools, and software.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve financial processes for efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity and security within financial systems.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to meet business requirements.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement professional development plans for team members.
Cost Management and Optimization:
- Analyze costs and expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement cost-control measures and provide recommendations for optimizing financial resources.
- Monitor financial risks and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
Strategic Decision Support:
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
- Conduct financial modeling to assess the feasibility of projects and investments.
- Advise senior management on financial strategies and capital structure.
Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM13,000.00 per month
