Job Description

Responsibilities

About the Role

The Event Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional events that exceed client expectations. From initial brief to final de-brief, you will own the full event lifecycle — planning, logistics, vendor management, and flawless on-day execution. You thrive under pressure, love the energy of live events, and have an eye for detail that ensures nothing slips through the cracks.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end planning and execution of client events — corporate dinners, product launches, brand activations, roadshows, award nights, and press conferences

Develop event concepts, run-of-show (ROS) scripts, floor plans, and production timelines

Source, negotiate with, and manage vendors — AV, staging, catering, décor, photography, printing

Prepare and manage event budgets, cost sheets, and post-event reconciliations

Coordinate with the Creative Director on event theming, branding, and visual design

Handle emcee, speaker, and talent briefings and on-site coordination

Lead on-site crew and manage event logistics on the day of event

Liaise directly with clients from planning through to post-event debrief

Coordinate event content capture (photography/video) and post-event social amplification brief

Maintain vendor relationships and continuously build the company's preferred vendor database

What We're Looking For

Minimum 3 years of event management experience, agency or in-house

Demonstrated track record managing events from MYR 30,000 to MYR 500,000 in scale

Strong vendor network in Klang Valley (AV, F&B, venues, décor)

Excellent project management skills — proficient in Gantt charts, timelines, and task tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to clients

Ability to remain calm and problem-solve under high-pressure, fast-changing event conditions

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when events require

Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (Excel budget sheets, Docs, Slides)

Nice to Have

Experience with HRDF-claimable event formats or corporate teambuilding

Network of emcees, performers, and event talent

Basic understanding of social media content capture for events

How We Measure Success (KPIs)

On-time and on-budget event delivery rate

Client satisfaction score per event (target: 4.5/5 or above)

Number of events successfully managed per month

Vendor cost savings vs. budget (target: within 5% variance)
