Exentec Services Malaysia is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Project Engineer to join our team in Bayan Lepas, Penang to support the successful delivery of Semiconductor Tool Install (TI) projects
This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in Semiconductor Tool Install (TI) projects who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical works for semiconductor Tool Install projects from project kick-off through final handover.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, and construction documents to ensure compliance with project and client requirements.
- Coordinate electrical installation activities for production tools, including power distribution, equipment hook-up, cable routing, grounding, and facility interfaces.
- Work closely with Mechanical, Process, Facilities, Construction, and Equipment teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor project progress, resolve technical and construction issues, and support schedule recovery where required.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, method statements, inspection records, progress reports, and as-built documentation.
- Participate in client meetings, site coordination meetings, and construction planning sessions.
- Support testing, energization, commissioning, punch list closure, and final project handover.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements, cleanroom protocols, and client-specific standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5–8 years of project engineering experience in electrical construction or industrial projects.
- Hands-on experience in Semiconductor Tool Install projects is highly preferred.
- Experience working in semiconductor fabs, cleanroom environments, or high-tech manufacturing facilities is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including low-voltage power distribution, cable management, grounding, lighting, UPS systems, and equipment power connections.
- Experience coordinating electrical installation, equipment hook-up, and utility interfaces for semiconductor production tools.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, layout drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or Primavera P6 is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Tool Install, equipment hook-up, or electrical construction within semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
- Familiarity with cleanroom construction practices and semiconductor industry standards.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple work fronts in active manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of project management principles and construction documentation processes.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or project management certification is an added advantage.
