Infection Control Manager

Job Description

• Plan, implement, and monitor the hospital's Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programme.
• Develop, review, and update infection control policies and procedures.
• Conduct infection surveillance, audits, and compliance monitoring.
• Investigate and manage infection outbreaks in collaboration with clinical teams.
• Organize and provide infection control education and training for staff.
• Monitor compliance with hand hygiene, sterilization, environmental cleaning, and waste management practices.
• Prepare infection control reports and support hospital accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to promote patient and staff safety and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare discipline (Post Basic in Infection Control is an added advantage).
• Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board and possess a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC), where applicable.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in infection prevention and control or a related role.
• Good knowledge of Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia infection control guidelines and hospital accreditation standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and report preparation.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
