Position Details:

  • Position Title: Solar Sales Engineer
  • Employment Status: Permanent
  • Remuneration Package: Monthly Basic + Commission + Travel Reimbursement


Job Overview:

The Solar Sales Engineer is responsible for driving sales growth by delivering both technical and commercial solutions for solar PV mounting systems, including solar trackers and floating solar systems. This role combines engineering expertise with strong sales acumen to engage with clients, develop tailored proposals, and successfully secure project opportunities.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the commercial & industrial (C&I) and utility-scale solar markets.
  • Engage with clients to understand project requirements, conduct site assessments, and recommend suitable solar PV mounting system solutions.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including preliminary system designs and cost estimates.
  • Deliver product presentations and provide technical support throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure solution feasibility and successful project execution.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and opportunity development to contract negotiation and project award.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, EPCs, and strategic partners.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to identify new business opportunities.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in the solar, renewable energy, or technical sales industry.
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV systems and mounting solutions, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and proposals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits as required.
  • Experience with commercial, industrial (C&I), or utility-scale solar projects.
  • Familiarity with Malaysia's solar policies and incentive programs, including NEM, LSS, ATAP, and CRESS.
