Job Summary

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead safety strategy planning, implement accident prevention measures, and ensure compliance with legal health and safety requirements on construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement safety strategies to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with legal health and safety regulations
  • Advise project teams on safety measures and risk mitigation to maintain a safe work environment
  • Conduct Safety Committee Meetings and perform regular site safety audits, preparing detailed findings for management review
  • Prepare and submit monthly safety reports aligned with client and regulatory requirements
  • Organize and lead Toolbox Meetings to educate site workers on safe work procedures and promote safety awareness
  • Conduct thorough incident and accident investigations to identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions
  • Review and evaluate Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and internal standards
  • Lead and support the implementation of WSHMS and Risk Management plans to maintain consistent safety practices across sites
  • Foster a proactive safety culture through ongoing engagement, training, and communication with site personnel
  • Assess occupational health hazards, evaluate their impact on employees, and recommend control measures to mitigate risks

Required competencies and certifications

  • Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Workplace Health & Safety or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction or industrial safety roles
  • Strong knowledge of local safety regulations, risk assessment, and accident prevention practices
  • Effective communication and team coordination skills
