Patent Scientist


We are seeking a Patent Scientist to join our Singapore office on a full-time basis.


Your day to day work will involve all aspects of private patent attorney practice. This includes liaising with inventors and corporate clients, drafting patent specifications, conducting due diligence, advising on patentability, patent infringement and validity opinion, and managing global prosecution. You will work on matters for both local and international clients across the innovation lifecycle.


The successful candidate will receive training and development towards achieving the professional qualification of a Singapore Registered Patent Attorney.


About You

Qualifications

  • A degree in a scientific discipline (preferably in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Material Science or related fields).
  • Higher degree (MSc/PhD) is preferred.
  • Prior patent experience or partial qualification is advantageous but not essential.


Skills required

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills with strong command of English.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset; able to assimilate and evaluate complex technical information.
  • Team player with an ability to work collaboratively.
  • Commercial awareness with an interest in business development.
  • Committed to undertake further studies to qualify as a Patent Attorney as required.
