Job Description
Responsibilities
a) Main Responsibilities :-
I. New Product Introduction (NPI) & Advanced Quality Planning:
a.APQP Core Member: Act as the tooling subject matter expert within the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) team for new lock system projects.
b.DFM & DFE Analysis: Review product designs for stamping feasibility, performing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Evaluation (DFE) to minimize strip layout waste and tool complexity.
c.FMEA Contribution: Participate actively in Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA) to identify and mitigate tooling-related risks.
II.Tooling Design & Development Management:
a.Vendor & Tool Shop Liaison: Manage external tool makers during the fabrication of progressive, transfer, or stage stamping dies.
b.Design Approval: Review and approve strip layouts, die designs, and component material selection (e.g., tungsten carbide inserts, tool steel grades) to meet the life cycle requirements of high-volume lock parts.
c.Timeline Tracking: Monitor tooling fabrication milestones against the master project timeline to prevent delays in customer sample submission.
III.Tool Trials, PPAP, & Process Validation:
a.Die Tryouts: Lead and optimize T0, T1, and subsequent tool trials atsupplier facilities or in-house stamping presses.
b.Dimensional Accuracy: Analyze trial parts using inspection reports (CMM, optical comparators) to fix dimensional deviations and springback issues.
c.PPAP Submission: Generate and compile tooling-related documentation required for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions,including tool wear data, press parameters, and preventative maintenancechecklists.
IV.IATF 16949 QMS Compliance & Tooling Governance:
a.Tooling Preventive Maintenance (PM): Establish PM schedules, spare parts inventory control, and emergency backup plans for the new dies according to IATF 16949 clause requirements.
b.Identification & Traceability: Ensure all new tools are properly tagged, localized, asset-coded, and recorded in the tooling master registry.
c.Engineering Change Management (ECM): Manage tool modifications resulting from customer-initiated or internal engineering change notes (ECN), ensuring full traceability.
V.QMS Knowledge:
Familiarity with IATF 16949 requirements, particularly regarding tool management, risk assessment, and traceability.
VI.Any other related task assigned by the superior from time to time.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
