We are a lean, high-impact team where engineers work directly on cutting-edge AI products serving enterprise clients across Malaysia and the region.

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure that power our analytics and AI-driven products.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
  • Ingest and integrate data from diverse internal and external sources, including APIs, databases, files, and event streams.
  • Model and structure data in the data warehouse to support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability through testing, validation, and monitoring.
  • Optimize queries, storage, and pipeline performance to improve efficiency and reduce latency.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to productionise models and deliver clean, well-documented datasets.
  • Implement and uphold data governance, security, and privacy best practices.
  • Document data flows, schemas, and pipeline logic for the wider team.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Open to Malaysian candidates only.
  • 3+ years of experience in a data engineering or backend data role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and working with data warehouses (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift or PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, dbt, Dagster).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and version control (Git).
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, warehousing concepts, and performance tuning.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work onsite as part of a collaborative team.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
  • Exposure to containerisation and CI/CD tools (Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience supporting machine-learning workflows and feature pipelines.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.

Education:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
