This role plays a key part in driving accurate financial reporting, strengthening finance governance, and supporting the Group’s consolidation activities across multiple entities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with subsidiary finance teams, gain exposure to Group-level reporting, and contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance function.

Key ResponsibilitiesGroup Consolidation & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated management accounts for the Group.
  • Perform consolidation activities including intercompany eliminations, unrealised profit adjustments, and other consolidation entries.
  • Review subsidiary financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Group reporting requirements.
  • Support the preparation of statutory financial statements, annual reports, and management reporting packages.
  • Ensure timely collection and submission of financial information from subsidiaries to meet reporting deadlines.

Finance Governance, Standardisation & Compliance

  • Collaborate with finance teams across subsidiaries to enhance consistency in accounting practices, reporting templates, chart of accounts, and financial processes.
  • Monitor compliance with Group accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting guidelines.
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies in accounting treatments and provide recommendations to align with Group standards.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of Group Finance SOPs, policies, and reporting guidelines.

Intercompany Management & Financial Analysis

  • Monitor, review, and reconcile intercompany balances and transactions across Group entities.
  • Work closely with subsidiary finance teams to investigate and resolve reconciliation differences.
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit trails are maintained for all consolidation adjustments.
  • Provide financial insights and support to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration

  • Act as the key point of contact between Group Finance and subsidiary finance teams.
  • Communicate reporting requirements, timelines, and updates on accounting standards across the Group.
  • Provide guidance and support to subsidiaries on reporting matters and financial system requirements.

Audit, Transformation & Special Projects

  • Support internal and external audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documents.
  • Participate in finance transformation initiatives, ERP implementation, and process improvement projects.
  • Support Group-wide projects including acquisitions, restructuring exercises, and other strategic finance initiatives.

RequirementsAcademic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent will be an added advantage.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, group consolidation, audit, or accounting.
  • Experience in a Group Finance environment, multi-company reporting, or public listed company (PLC) will be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of consolidation principles, financial reporting, and accounting standards.
  • Good knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and Malaysian statutory reporting requirements.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Experience with financial consolidation tools or reporting systems is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and identify issues.
