Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Mandarin Interpreter. The Mandarin Interpreter will provide real-time interpretation between Mandarin and English during virtual meetings, calls, and telehealth or business sessions, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate communication. Daily tasks include listening carefully to speakers, conveying messages precisely without omission or addition, and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. The role also involves preparing for assignments by reviewing relevant terminology, documenting session details when required, and collaborating with coordinators or clients to support smooth scheduling and service delivery. The interpreter will adhere to HIPAA and other privacy standards while working independently in a secure, distraction-free environment.
Qualifications

• Strong Mandarin and English language proficiency, including excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension skills.
• Demonstrated experience in interpretation (consecutive or simultaneous), preferably in healthcare, business, or community settings.
• Ability to maintain accuracy, neutrality, and cultural sensitivity while interpreting complex or sensitive information.
• Familiarity with professional standards of confidentiality and privacy; HIPAA knowledge or certification is highly beneficial.
• Comfort with remote work tools and platforms, including stable internet access and basic technical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emotional situations.
• Prior training or education in linguistics, translation/interpretation, healthcare communication, or a related field is an advantage.
• Availability to work full-time with reliable scheduling and strong time management abilities.
