The Cloud Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating a secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platform that supports enterprise applications, data platforms, AI workloads, and IoT/OT integrations. This role focuses on cloud infrastructure engineering, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevSecOps, automation, and platform operations to ensure reliable and efficient cloud services.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Terraform, public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD pipeline implementation, containerization, Kubernetes, cloud networking, identity and access management, monitoring, logging, and cloud security best practices. The role requires close collaboration with software engineers, data engineers, infrastructure teams, and solution architects to deliver highly available and production-ready cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Provision and manage cloud resources using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure and application deployments.
- Implement DevSecOps practices by integrating security scanning, compliance checks, and automated validation into deployment pipelines.
- Configure and manage cloud networking, including virtual networks, subnets, routing, firewalls, and network segmentation.
- Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and secrets management solutions.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
- Build and maintain platform monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Support cloud-native databases, storage services, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting and cloud-native automation services.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud platform enhancements, production deployments, and incident resolution.
- Ensure adherence to security, governance, compliance, and Infrastructure as Code standards across cloud environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in Cloud Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or DevOps with production environment ownership.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, including modules, remote state management, and automated infrastructure provisioning.
- Experience working with at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Hands-on experience building, managing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure deployment practices.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, RBAC, secrets management, and cloud security best practices.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Mandatory Skills
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Cloud Platform Engineering (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- DevSecOps and CI/CD Pipeline Implementation
Preferred Skills
- Experience with IoT/OT platforms or real-time telemetry ingestion.
- Knowledge of Smart City, industrial, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience with data platforms, data lakes, streaming technologies, or analytics infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Policy-as-Code solutions such as OPA or HashiCorp Sentinel.
- Understanding of cloud governance and compliance frameworks, including Singapore Government Cloud (GCC 2.0), IM8, or equivalent.
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or HashiCorp Terraform Associate are advantageous but hands-on production experience will be given higher priority.
