QA Tester, Conversational AI (Internship)
Job type: Full-time internship (paid)
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (hybrid)
About the role
We are developing a conversational AI product and need a QA tester to evaluate how well it holds sustained conversations and how accurately it retains and recalls information over time. This is a hands-on quality-assurance role: you will test the product through structured, repeated conversations and report clearly on where it succeeds and where it fails. Because the quality of this testing depends on realistic, sustained conversation, the ideal candidate is a strong communicator and storyteller with a sharp memory, rather than an engineer.
This role is for you if you're:
- A psychology, cognitive science, or human-computer interaction student — someone who thinks about how people are understood and remembered
- A linguistics, communications, or humanities student drawn to language and conversation
- A creative or storytelling type — writing, film, theatre, or the arts — who is good at drawing out a conversation and building a narrative
- Anyone fascinated by memory, human relationships, and what makes a conversation feel real
You do not need to be an engineer or have a technical background. If you tell a good story, notice how people are understood and misremembered, and cannot let a small inconsistency go, this role may be a strong fit.
Responsibilities
- Conduct rich, sustained test conversations with the AI, drawing on detailed narratives and observations to evaluate conversational quality
- Assess whether the AI maintains context within a conversation and recalls information accurately across sessions
- Track precisely what was said and when, and identify inconsistencies or errors in the AI's recall over time
- Evaluate the memory-review and consent experience for clarity and accuracy
- Test the product website for functionality, flow, and clarity of information
- Document findings clearly, explaining what went wrong and why it matters
Must-have qualifications
- Ability to conduct rich, sustained conversations and storytelling, bringing detailed narratives and observations into the interaction
- Strong ability to accurately remember and track what was said and when, in order to detect inconsistencies in the AI's recall
- Willingness to share experiences and observations during testing, on a voluntary basis, to enable realistic evaluation
Preferred qualifications
- Background or current studies in psychology, cognitive science, human-computer interaction, linguistics, communications, or the humanities
- Experience or interest in creative storytelling disciplines such as writing, film, theatre, or other narrative arts
- Experience critically analyzing conversations to identify when they feel off and articulating why
- Demonstrated curiosity about memory, human relationships, and what makes conversations feel authentic
Data and privacy
Any personal information you choose to share during testing is used solely to evaluate the product. Participation is voluntary, and we will explain how your data is stored, who can access it, and how you can request its deletion.
