Job Description

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and strategies that prevent, detect, and address bribery and corruption risks within the organization. This role works closely with Maybank Group, legal, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to anti-bribery laws and regulations, while fostering a culture of integrity and transparency.
  • The position supports the business in maintaining its ethical standards and securing sustainable, compliant growth.
  • To design, implement, and maintain effective policies and procedures that ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Financing of Terrorism, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments, Identify, assess, analyze and report AML/CFT, Bribery and Corruption risks within the organization and across its divisions.
  • Monitor Compliance and Reporting, Establish and oversee monitoring mechanisms for compliance with Financial Crime Compliance regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance Teams, Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure a coordinated approach to anti-bribery and corruption risk management.
  • Due Diligence & Monitoring, Oversee and support Business Units on third-party due diligence processes for vendors, agents, and business partners where applicable. Monitor and review gifts, hospitality, donations, sponsorships, and conflict of interest declarations. Investigate potential breaches or red flags related to bribery and corruption.
  • Report to Stakeholders, Prepare and deliver regular reports on anti-bribery and corruption activities, risks, and mitigation efforts to Superiors and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Training and Awareness Programs, Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and stakeholders about anti-bribery and corruption practices and company policies.


Job Requirement

  • Bachelor Degree (Law, BA, Finance, Economics, Risk Management)/Masters Degree (MBA, Law)
  • 5-7 years of experience in compliance, legal, or risk management roles, ideally with a focus on anti-bribery and anti-corruption.
  • Strong understanding of AML/CFT laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Sound knowledge of anti-bribery and corruption legislation (e.g., Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act, Section 17A Corporate Liability provisions, UK Bribery Act, and the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)).
  • Knowledge of regulatory expectations issued by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and other relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Understanding of compliance risk management, corporate governance, and internal control frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and risk assessment skills.
  • Excellent policy drafting, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify regulatory risks and recommend practical mitigation measures.
