Star Media Group Berhad is looking for a creative Data Journalist to join our dynamic StarPlus team! As a Data Journalist with StarPlus, you will research, analyze, and write compelling news stories powered by data. You will design and code interactive visual elements such as maps, charts, and scroll-driven graphics to create immersive reader experiences. Additionally, you will manage and publish interactive content using our content management system.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, gather, and analyze datasets to uncover news stories, and collaborate with other reporters on data-driven investigations.
• Create custom interactive charts, maps, and graphics utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Migrate and maintain interactive stories on internal servers, ensuring smooth performance across various browsers and devices.
• Clean, organize, and present data effectively using tools like Excel and Google Sheets.

Required Qualifications

• A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Computer Science, Multimedia, Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience, preferably within media, digital publishing, technology, or front-end web development.
• Basic data analysis using Excel or Google Sheets, alongside practical knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English, with the ability to write clear and highly accurate news copy.
