Supplier Chain Specialist
Location: Johor Bahru (skudai), Malaysia (3 Headcounts) / Selangor, Malaysia (1 Headcount)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Supplier Chain professional to lead supplier sourcing, qualification, and strategic procurement activities for engineering and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing suppliers across key engineering categories while driving cost optimization, supplier performance, and supply chain resilience to support large-scale project delivery.
Experience in Data Centre, E-House, M&E infrastructure, or industrial engineering projects will be highly advantageous.
My client is looking for candidates fluent in Mandarin preferred role as requires candidate to deal with Mandarin speaking internal clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, qualification, development, and strategic management of suppliers for engineering-related products and services.
- Source and manage suppliers across the following categories:
- Diesel Generator Systems
- Electrical Equipment (Transformers, Power Cables, Switchgear, Distribution Boards, LV/HV Equipment, etc.)
- HVAC Systems (Cooling Towers, Chillers, Piping, Valves, Ventilation Systems, etc.)
- Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Installation Works
- Build and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity.
- Conduct supplier capability assessments, audits, qualification, and periodic performance evaluations based on quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance.
- Develop sourcing strategies and procurement plans aligned with project schedules and business objectives.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best pricing, payment terms, and contractual conditions while maintaining quality standards.
- Drive procurement cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, supplier consolidation, competitive bidding, and strategic sourcing.
- Monitor procurement budgets and perform spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze market trends, material price movements, supplier capacity, and industry developments to support strategic sourcing decisions.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks by developing contingency plans and alternative supplier strategies.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Cost Control, Quality, and Operations teams to support project execution.
- Continuously improve procurement processes, supplier management frameworks, and sourcing efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Procurement, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Supplier Development, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management within engineering or infrastructure industries.
- Strong experience sourcing engineering-related equipment and services, including:
- Diesel Generator Systems
- Electrical Equipment (Transformers, Power Cables, Switchgear, Distribution Boards, etc.)
- HVAC Equipment (Cooling Towers, Piping Systems, Valves, Chillers, etc.)
- Mechanical & Electrical Installation Works
- Experience in M&E integration, system integration, industrial equipment, or customized/non-standard equipment manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Candidates with experience supporting Data Centre construction, E-House (Electrical House/Power Module) projects, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects will have a distinct advantage.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Data Centre, Mission Critical Facilities, Power Infrastructure, EPC, Industrial Construction, or E-House projects.
- Familiarity with regional supplier networks across Southeast Asia.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar procurement platforms.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, CPM, or PMP will be an added advantage.
Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
