Robotics Engineer (R&D) Position

Location: Singapore

With a focus on sustainability and cutting-edge technology, we aim to transform maritime operations worldwide. We are looking for dedicated Robotics Engineers to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview:

We are seeking skilled Robotics Engineers with hands-on experience in design, development, and testing of software & electrical systems powering our underwater robot.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Development:

  • Assist in writing clean, modular, and scalable code in C++ and Python for embedded systems and robotic applications

  • Contribute to firmware development for STM32 and related controllers

  • Contribute to the implementation of ROS 2-based software components for perception, navigation, and communication

System Integration & Testing:

  • Participate in the integration and testing of software with hardware components, including IMUs, cameras, encoders, and motor controllers

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving basic software and integration issues

  • Assist in debugging real-time robotic data pipelines for sensor fusion, motion control, and system reliability

Research and Innovation:

  • Explore trends and advancements in robotics, automation, AI and related technologies

  • Learn and experiment with new algorithms and techniques for underwater robotic applications

Documentation and Field Testing:

  • Maintain clear documentation of work done including software changes, test results, and observations

  • Provide progress updates during team meetings or reviews

  • Participate in robot deployment, field trials, and system validation

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: 

  • Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field

Technical Skills:

Following is good to have:

  • Experience with C/C++ and Python for robotics or embedded systems

  • Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2 frameworks, Linux

  • Understanding of communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, or RS485

  • Interest in embedded Linux, microcontrollers, and hardware/software integration

  • Experience with STM32, NVIDIA Jetson

  • Exposure to sensors like IMUs, encoders, or cameras is a plus

  • Willingness to learn and apply ROS2-based robotic software while actively engaging in hands-on testing, debugging, and system-level experimentation

  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, soldering, or debugging electronics is advantageous

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-driven with a prototyping and experimentation mindset

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and international teams
